Staying at my job

Published by daynafrances at 8:54 pm under Working Wife? Edit This

So a while ago I posted a blog about finding a new job- but I have decided to stay at my current job. I’ve been there almost 3 years and I do love what I do.  I care about the company I work for as well. We may not be doing that well financially, but the economy is effecting everyone and everything right now, so I know things will get better.

One of the main reasons I was going to leave my company is because of the General Manager. I won’t go into detail on our differences, but I had put in my notice in the middle of June, but then reconsidered and ended up staying. Then 2 weeks ago I put in my notice, officially and that was that. My last day was supposed to be this coming Friday. But then last Thursday (3 days ago), the General Manger called me into her office and we had a long talk, and she basically apologized to me and long story short, I ended up reconsidering my resignation, and am going to give her and the company one last shot.

If things don’t change though, I am not staying. I do love that I can wear jeans to work, and it’s only three miles from where I live, and I am familiar and comfortable with my position, and I do make good money for having no college education. Everything I’ve learned has been over the last 5 years from my last 2 jobs, so I am very lucky.

But I also don’t take anyone’s crap, so three strikes, and I’m OUT! :)

I’m thinking about going back to work, and I’m wondering how to go about it…I teach at the college level, but I don’t have a college within 30 minutes of my home…

I understand your desire to love where you work (or whom you work with)…I hope all goes well for you!
