Video Games

Published by daynafrances at 9:04 am under Everday Living Edit This

So my husband loves to play video games. I like them too, but not the way he likes them. They become his life, they get 100% of his attention when he’s playing them, it’s actually kind of weird and funny.
I love the old school games like Galaga, Pacman, Mario Brothers, etc. but he’s all into his XBox360 and all of the new games. I must say though, I do love Grand Theft Auto IV, that game is awesome. You can steal cars, go get hookers, kill them and take their money, go to a bar and get wasted and then drink-I know all of that sounds horrible but for someone who would NEVER do that stuff in real life, it’s kind of fun to do it in a video game. Is that weird? Does that make me crazy/psycho/abnormal?
When I first got married, video games took over our marriage. I almost wanted a divorce over the video games, no joke. It’s so funny how a GAME can ruin peoples’ lives. I even read a few articles about people DYING from playing video games too much.

With my husband, it’s football (so at least it’s seasonal…I only want to divorce him between September and January).

Over the last few years, though, I’ve found I can write quite happily during football games. They are not as distracting as some of the other television he watches, like Dateline and Deal or No Deal. If nothing else, his football habit gives me time to write while he’s occupied…so I tend to get a lot done in the fall, a lot more than at other times of the year.

Oh Dana! I feel your pain. My husband is the same way. One day I came home from work to find him playing a game on the computer and a game on the PS2, at the same time.
